South Africa has officially announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia, set to take place at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground from June 11 to 15. The announcement came on May 13, with skipper Temba Bavuma revealing the squad in a passionate social media video, stating, “This is the squad that carries our hopes.”

Making a strong return to the national setup is pacer Lungi Ngidi, who has recovered from injury and recently featured in the IPL 2025 with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He joins a fearsome pace unit that already includes Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen, Dane Paterson, Wiaan Mulder, and Corbin Bosch — giving South Africa a wealth of seam-bowling options ideally suited for English conditions.
The batting line-up features a solid blend of youth and experience. Alongside Bavuma, the squad includes Aiden Markram, Tony de Zorzi, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and David Bedingham. Kyle Verreyne, known for his tidy glovework and dependable batting, has been named the primary wicketkeeper for the high-stakes clash.

In anticipation of spin-friendly phases during the Lord’s Test, South Africa have opted for two spinners — Keshav Maharaj and Senuran Muthuswamy — both capable of providing control and breakthroughs in the middle overs.
Defining moments. Unshakable character. This is what Test cricket’s all about 🏏.
As we look to the battle that awaits, we acknowledge growth and reward perseverance 💪👏.

Head coach Shukri Conrad emphasised continuity in selection, saying, “A key part of our success has been consistency, and we’ve kept faith in the core group that brought us here. The squad is well-balanced for what we expect at Lord’s.” He also praised Ngidi’s return, noting, “I’m particularly pleased to welcome Lungi back. He’s worked hard and adds valuable experience with the ball.”
Earlier the same day, Australia also announced their 15-man squad, which includes the returning duo of Cameron Green and Josh Hazlewood.
