The whole world is in self shock amid the outbreak of coronavirus across the globe. Major economies like Spain, China, Italy Iran, and the USA are struggling to contain the spread of the virus. Many countries have gone into lockdown mode to and cut off any international travel as a precautionary measure to keep it’s citizens safe. European countries like Spain and Italy been completely shut off from the outside world as they have been affected the most due to the spread of COVID -19.

Meanwhile, India has done extremely well and the Indian government hs to be applauded for taking quick actions. The government of the largest democracy in the world has been vigilant in its efforts and called be deemed successful in containing the spread of the virus to a certain extent. While writing this article, the Indian government has reported just over 200 positive cases of Corona Virus with 5 people died because of the same.  The government has halted giving out new visas till April 15 and also stopped all international flights till March 31.

Major sporting events have been impacted because of the fear of spreading the Corona Virus. Sporting events have either been canceled or postponed to avoid mass gathering. Governments have decided to implement such rules as precautionary measures for the safety fo its citizens. Cricket has also been affected severely because of the same. India’s apex cricketing body, BCCI has suspended all domestic cricketing activities and India’s premier cricketing event the IPL also being postponed to avoid mass gathering.

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has proactive in spreading awareness about COVID-19. He has been sharing videos on his personal social media handles sharing how to maintain proper hygiene and washing hands properly along with other must-do activities. In his latest column for the Times of India, Sachin shares how he plans to battle against the COVID-19 virus.

“Cricket is a unique sport. There has been much debate about the relevance of Test Cricket in the fast-paced T20 world. While the world battles the Covid-19 pandemic, this is probably the time for all of us to draw lessons from the grand old format of the game,” told Tendulkar.

Sachin Tendulkar also shared his learnings from test cricket. Sachin believes that test cricket teaches you patience when you have no idea about the current situations. He adds that it also tells you that you are rewarded when you respecting the danger in front of you and stay patient.  He said that the pandemic is something he hasn’t ‘seen anything like this’.

“Test cricket is about staging comebacks. There is always a second inning if you’ve missed the first one. Different countries are at different stages of their fight against coronavirus. But with a positive mindset, all of them can overcome this pandemic in their own ways,” he further wrote.

In India, PM Narendra Modi has called for a Janta Curfew this Sunday. Modi wants all the citizens of the country to stay indoors from 7 am to 9 pm on March 22, 2020.

Tendulkar ended with, “All nations should consider themselves part of one team. They should talk to each other, keep themselves motivated, pat each other’s backs after a long day’s play and come back harder the next day to continue the fight. This pandemic has been a true test of our character, but it has also brought all of us together. We shall take this battle session by session, and eventually emerge victorious.”
