Earlier in this March, the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) for BCCI has appointed the new annual contracts for the Indian players for the ongoing season (October 2017 to September 2018). However, the final decision will be taken on this during the upcoming BCCI’s Special General Meeting (SGM) which has been scheduled to be held on this Friday.
While the contract prices have been increased massively, a new grade has also been introduced in that list for those players who have regularly played in all three formats.

In the new system, Grade A+ retention fee is INR 7 crores while the other Grade A, Grade B and Grade C have INR 5 crores, INR 3 crores and INR 1 crore retention fees respectively. Grade A+ is the new grade which was not available in the earlier seasons.
However, the decision is still hanging to get the final seal until the upcoming SGM.
Talking about the delayed procedure for this important matter, a senior BCCI official recently told CricketNext, “The players are undoubtedly the priority of the board. But, you have to realise that there are certain protocols that need to be followed and decisions need ratifications and that is why this delay.”
