There is no denying the fact that the Indian team is going through a tough time as their woes are increasing each passing day. In fact, this time around, the no. of injuries have thrashed the records that ever happened in a tour. There have been only two Indian cricketers (Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane) who have managed to play all the games of the ongoing four-match series which started in Adelaide.

India’s injured XI is already on the table, and the ticketing pundits have been showing concerns on the same matter. In the same light, former Australian wicket-keeper, Adam Gilchrist has stated that the Indian team needs to introspect as to why these many injuries are hitting them on this tour. Only Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja suffered external injuries and apart from that, all the other injuries came up naturally.

Talking about the injuries of India, during a chat on foxsports.com.au., Adam Gilchrist said, “It’s just been extraordinary the adversity they have faced on this tour. They’ll need to work out why there have been so many injuries. A few have been inflicted by the Australian pace attack, but the soft tissue injuries – they’ll need to assess why they came about and whether it was something in or out of their control.”

The Indian team showed great temperament at SCG, and that has earned them a lot of praises from the cricket fraternity. Despite having an inexperienced and young bowling attack at Gabba, the visiting team managed to restrict the host for 369 runs. Gilchrist is quite impressed with the spirit and determination with which the team is moving up in this series.
