The cricketing brilliance of MS Dhoni continues to captivate fans, even as he nears the end of his illustrious career. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain has been receiving overwhelming support from fans in the ongoing IPL, leading many to believe that this may be his final season as a player. However, Dhoni has refrained from making any official retirement statement, leaving fans hopeful that the legendary player will continue to thrill them with his towering sixes.
Amidst the discussions and speculations surrounding Dhoni’s retirement, fans and experts have also taken the opportunity to celebrate his remarkable legacy. One such celebration came from his former India and CSK teammate, Harbhajan Singh, who shared an untold story involving MSD. Harbhajan recounted a rare incident of 2018 when MS Dhoni couldn’t control his emotions in front of his teammates as CSK made a comeback to the IPL after being banned for a couple of years due to a betting scandal.

Recalling the scenes, Harbhajan Singh said, “There is a story I want to share. In 2018, when CSK returned to the league after a two-year ban, there was a team dinner. We’ve all heard the saying ‘Men don’t cry,’ but MS Dhoni shed tears that night. He became emotional, and I don’t think many people know about this.”
MS Dhoni then turned to his panelist Imran Tahir, who was part of the CSK squad, to provide more insight into the incident.

Tahir confirmed the emotional moment, stating, “I was there too. It was an extremely emotional moment for MS Dhoni. Seeing him like that made me realize how deeply he cares about this team. He considers the team as his family. It was a moving experience for all of us.”

He continued, “After our two-year absence from the league, we came back and won the trophy when people labeled our team as ‘old men.’ I was part of that season, and I am incredibly proud of that victory.”
While both Tahir and Harbhajan are no longer active players in the IPL, MS Dhoni remains a prominent figure in the lucrative T20 league. Fans can look forward to seeing him lead CSK in Qualifier 1 against defending champions Gujarat Titans at Chepauk later in the evening on Tuesday.
