Words, at times, fall short to describe as to how Abraham Benjamin de Villiers amazes you with his skills. A sure starter in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s most likely playing eleven, de Villiers, missed the first two matches due to an injury. It was today, when he introduced himself to the Indian Premier League 2017.

After coming in to bat at No. 3, de Villiers saw Vishnu Vinod and Kedar Jadhav walking back to the pavilion in front of him. After consolidating the innings till the 15th over, AB finally realised that the time has come to launch the big hits.

In the last five overs, de Villiers faced 18 balls and amassed 58 runs which included a sole boundary but eight humongous sixes. The 360-degree angle had made its impact and showed to the world that no lay-off can stop modern-day geniuses like him.

de Villiers ended up scoring 89* (46 balls) with the help of three fours and nine sixes. After JP Duminy and Quinton de Kock missed this season of the IPL, it seemed as if the regards from South Africa arrived in the form of de Villiers. RCB scored 71-4 in the first 15 overs. de Villiers’ onslaught made sure that they smashed 77 runs in the last five overs, giving them more than just a chance of winning the game.
