After Sonal Dinusha’s unbeaten century in the second Test, former India player turned commentator Ajay Jadeja has named him a special player. He added that the Sri Lankan batter overcame physical fatigue and showcased mental ability as well. However, Dinusha also scored an unbeaten 133 off 264 balls in Sri Lanka’s second innings in Colombo as well. His knock also helped Sri Lanka end the final day (Thursday, August 27) at 429 for 9 declared after they had been asked to follow on, following conceding a 213-run first-innings lead as well.

During a discussion on Sony Sports, Jadeja said, “You can play those many balls while standing as well. I think the number of sweeps he had played was 125 at lunchtime. Whoever does exercise, how many squats do you do? You do 10, 20, or 30 squats, and how many lunges do you do? He is doing lunges and squats, and there is no protein shake after that.”

“There is no doubt that he is a special player. He showed how to play in spin-friendly conditions. In this innings, I don’t recall a silly point or short leg being placed when he started playing. He didn’t throw it away. We kept waiting, and he said he wouldn’t make a mistake. That shows his mental ability,” he again added.

Meanwhile, in a video shared on his YouTube channel, ‘Aakash Chopra,’ he said, “Sonal Dinusha, what an incredible batter he is. He plays spin extremely well.
