Former India cricketer Murali Kartik said that the emerging Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi does not want to admit that he deliberately targets star bowlers from the start in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The youngster continued the trend of taking on famous bowlers as he smashed Punjab Kings (PBKS) pace bowler Arshdeep Singh in the first over of the run chase during the five-wicket win in Mullanpur on Tuesday, April 28 as well.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi took on the famous Indian left-arm pacer for three consecutive boundaries in the very first over, to set the platform for his stunning 16-ball 43. Over the course of the season, he has not hesitated to leave a mark against the best bowlers in the tournament, and more often than not, has come out on top too.

“I don’t think he even watches the bowler. I don’t think so. Just like Viru, the bigger the bowler, the more he wanted to send the ball out into space. This kid is not telling us, he is telling us no, no no, but I think deep inside, he thinks that he will hit Bumrah, Hazlewood, Arshdeep Singh, Sunil Narine,” Murali Kartik said on Cricbuzz.

Amid all of these, Murali Kartik also stated that Vaibhav Suryavanshi must ensure that he is in good company and not distract himself from the right path as well.
“The most important thing is to be grounded, if his company is good, then everything will be fine for him. Even during the post-match presentation, I advised him that I want him to remain like this only, keep hanging out with good people, and keep playing like this. This is the most important thing, because you never know how you may fall after climbing up,” Murali Kartik concluded.
