In the ongoing clash between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, a remarkable moment unfolded as Tilak Varma showcased remarkable agility in holding onto Phil Salt’s catch despite a collision. Salt had started aggressively, hitting a boundary off Nuwan Thushara’s delivery but fell victim to Thushara on the very next ball.
The dismissal, however, was marked by a bit of chaos as Varma and Naman Dhir nearly botched the catch due to a communication lapse. Nuwan Thushara delivered a back-of-a-length ball, prompting Salt to attempt a shot through the on-side, resulting in an edge that soared over the point region.

Tilak Varma, stationed at point, sprinted to the ball, but as he attempted the catch, Naman Dhir charged in, leading to a collision. Yet, Varma maintained his concentration, securing the catch and preventing the ball from slipping away.
As for the game’s progression, KKR faced a rocky start with the bat after Mumbai Indians elected to bowl first upon winning the toss. Thushara, seizing the opportunity, struck twice in the third over, dismissing Angkrish Raghuvanshi and captain Shreyas Iyer. At the latest update, KKR stood at 37 for 3, with Sunil Narine and Venkatesh Iyer at the crease.
KKR aims for their seventh victory of the season, a win that would significantly boost their playoff prospects. Conversely, MI’s playoff hopes hang by a thread, making this match a must-win for them.
