Tim David brought some light-hearted mischief to the Chinnaswamy Stadium, mimicking KL Rahul’s now-viral “My Ground” celebration during a chat with Faf du Plessis. Rahul had lit up the venue with an emphatic match-winning 93 off just 53 balls, sealing a memorable victory for Delhi Capitals and stamping his dominance on what is considered RCB’s backyard.

The celebration – fists clenched, arms wide, and pure passion on display – captured social media’s attention almost as much as the knock itself. Post-match, David and du Plessis were seen laughing about Rahul’s intense moment, with David jokingly imitating the celebration in a light exchange between the two overseas pros. But beneath the fun was the sheer brilliance of Rahul’s innings, which powered Delhi Capitals to their fourth consecutive win of IPL 2025.

RCB had posted a modest 163/7, and Delhi’s top order almost made a mess of what looked like a routine chase. But Rahul, alongside the composed Tristan Stubbs (38*), stitched a vital 111-run stand for the fourth wicket to steady the innings and take Delhi over the line at 169/4.

Rahul’s knock was a masterclass in pacing an innings on a tricky Chinnaswamy surface. Initially cautious, he accelerated with finesse. After surviving an early drop on five by Rajat Patidar, he cashed in smartly. He was particularly watchful against Suyash Sharma, patiently waiting before launching him over mid-wicket for a six.

Against Josh Hazlewood, he showed intent, using the bowler’s pace to smash a towering six straight down the ground. Stubbs complemented him well, finishing the chase with flair, including two exquisite boundaries off Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

However, Delhi’s chase began on a shaky note as du Plessis, returning from a minor injury, was dismissed cheaply—skying a Yash Dayal delivery into Patidar’s safe hands. But ultimately, it was Rahul’s day—dominant, determined, and delightfully dramatic.
