Almost five months have been passed since India’s historic Test series win in Australia but fans are still gushing about the victory. The character shown by the Indian team was appreciated by one and all as they rose to the occasion despite several big names were missing from the playing XI. Their backs were against the wall after being dismissed for 36 in Adelaide Test but the comeback from there was remarkable as they clinch the series in Brisbane by defying all odds.
Australian skipper Tim Paine has been on the receiving end of the Indian fans since he chirped into Ravichandran Ashwin’s ears to come to Gabba. Paine again received the heat from Indian fans after his latest remarks about Team India’s tactics before the final Test match in Brisbane.

On Thursday, Paine made another controversial remark which earned a lot of criticism. In an interaction, Paine claimed that Ajinkya Rahane-led India created ‘sideshows’ during the series and the hosts were distracted.
“Part of the challenge of playing against India is they’re very good at niggling you and trying to distract you with stuff that doesn’t really matter and there were times in that series where we fell for that,” news.com.au quoted Paine during a function for the Chappell Foundation.
Indian fans were quick to bash Paine for his comments on social media. Twitter got flooded with comments. Seeing this, Australian sports journalist Brent Costelloe shared a screenshot on his Twitter, saying “Almost 6 months on, poor old @tdpaine36 is still copping heat from Indian fans… and these are just the ones I’m tagged in!”
Love their passion Brent.
Most of it I deserve 😂— Tim Paine (@tdpaine36) May 13, 2021
However, Paine looked polite while taking all the troll and criticism. He replied to Brent’s tweet by saying “Love their passion Brent. Most of it I deserve.”
