While Australian cricket team is running in the poor form since the ball-tampering incident, their captain Tim Paine is hopeful on the team’s future by mentioning “light at the end of the tunnel”. He also rated England’s Jos Buttler as the “best white-ball wicketkeeper-batsman in the world” and even went on to hail the Englishman as better than India’s World Cup-winning skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Buttler is currently enjoying the purple patch in his career as recently, he single-handedly rescued England from a dubious position with a valiant century in the fifth and the final ODI of the series against Australi and helped his team to register a whitewash of 5-0 on Sunday.

Asked to rate Buttler, Paine, who himself is a stumper said: “He’s good, he’s very good. Right now, he’d have to be the best white-ball wicket-keeper batsman in the world. I don’t think there are too many guys to challenge him. MS Dhoni is pretty good, but at this moment, Jos is at the absolute peak of his powers. He understands his one-day game so well and knows his strengths inside out and just doesn’t go away from him.”

Buttler snatched victory from the jaws of defeat

Chasing down a low target of 206-run, England suffered a major batting collapse and went down to 114/8. From the verge of defeat, in-form Jos Buttler dramatically rescued the team with the important helps from the lower-order batsmen as they completed the whitewash after beating Australia in that game by one-wicket with 9 balls to spare.

Buttler amassed 275 runs in the recently concluded series with three unbeaten knocks that included scores of 91, 54 and 110. He will play a crucial role for the hosts in the upcoming series against India.
