Cricket Australia (CA) recently announced the coaching team for the Prime Minister’s XI, who will play a tour match against India at Canberra’s Manuka Oval on November 30. Alongside Paine, the coaching setup includes Cricket ACT coaches Erin Osborne and Jason McNally, who bring their expertise to the mix as the team prepares to face India. Tim Paine, who captained Australia’s Test team from 2018 to 2021, took charge during a turbulent period following the “Sandpapergate” scandal that saw Steve Smith and David Warner receive bans. His leadership helped guide Australian cricket through a challenging era, and now, in his coaching role, he’s eager to bring his experience to developing Australia’s next generation.

“For a young coach like myself, any chance to lead a team is a fantastic opportunity,” Tim Paine expressed. “I’m looking forward to working with some of the most talented young players in Australia, and it will be good fun,” he told Cricket ACT.

The coaching staff’s announcement has generated buzz as Australia’s cricketing community anticipates this encounter against India. Osborne, who is currently coaching the ACT Meteors, is enthusiastic about her involvement. Speaking about her collaboration with Paine, Osborne said, “I’m excited to pick his brain and learn as much as I can from him.” She also noted her limited experience working with male teams, adding, “I had a year with the Comets and really enjoyed it, so I’m looking forward to this opportunity.”
