Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has jokingly said about his partnership with MS Dhoni in their 91-run win over Delhi Capitals in the 55th of the ongoing season of IPL 2022 in Mumbai on Sunday, saying that he was worried about his hamstrings as the captain pushed him to run for twos as well.

However, Bravo came into bat in the final over of the Chennai innings. He took a single of the first delivery that he faced denying Nortje the hat-trick and gave the strike back to MS Dhoni who had already smashed 2 sixes by then along with a boundary in the first 6 deliveries he faced as well. However, Bravo had to dive to complete the twos as he was gasping for breath at the end of the innings as well. While speaking after CSK’s stunning win over Delhi Capitals, Bravo recalled his fun-filled conversation with Dhoni in the final over as well.

“Well, for me it was a hat-trick ball. I wanted to make sure I get him on strike. I told him to hit boundaries, not push me for twos,” Dwayne Bravo told the official broadcasters. “I told him after the innings ‘MS, 3 balls to again (if such a situation comes again), let someone else go and run because I have to protect my hamstring’.”

“But if felt good to be batting with a great. I thought it was a great professional team display, it started with Rutu and Conway. The way they set up the game with their batting (Was good) and then we finished off with the ball as well. Every game we play, we have to play like professionals and look to dominate,” he again shared.

Bravo has been in great form with the ball for CSK in IPL 2022, claiming 16 wickets in just 9 matches. While talking about how he maintains his fitness and keeps himself fresh, he said he makes sure he doesn’t overwork while training as well. Notably, CSK will next take on arch-rivals Mumbai Indians on May 12.

“I am still feeling fresh. I don’t allow my age to dictate how I play. I try to look after my body, and try not to overwork myself. Do a lot of massages, gym work, and recovery as well. I do what it takes to keep me on the park, I know my experience will get me through. So I try not over-bowl in practice sessions. Just try to execute right with yorkers and variations. I am feeling good, I am happy to be competing with the young generation and the new stars in the IPL. Someone said it’s 15 different scenarios. We don’t need to hear them, let’s focus on winning the games, that will take of itself. We want to continue to win and finish off this season strong,” Dwayne Bravo concluded.
