The sheer frustration of not getting a wicket on a cricket field forces a bowler to try different things. Changing ends, trying different fielding combinations and a lot of variations are some of the ways to earn a wicket in such situations.

What if when none of these work? In that scenario, in a bid to try anything new, bowlers tend to completely lose the battle. The end up bowling a beamer or a wide delivery which is that wide that even a wicket-keeper cannot stop it. Not that they do it intentionally, it just happens in the wake of trying new things.
