2. Mitchell McClenaghan
Another handy replacement for Archer could be Mitchell McClenaghan as he has played 29 T20Is for the New Zealand side. The left-arm pacer has picked up 30 wickets in T20Is and has picked them at an excellent strike rate of 20.27. McClenaghan has played 56 games in IPL in which he has scalped 71 wickets at an average of 25.39. He won the IPl title three times with the Mumbai Indians (MI). While Archer’s searing pace will be missed, McClenaghan can compensate for it with the extra bounce that he can get off the pitch.
1. Sheldon Cottrell
Sheldon Cottrell has been known to be a handy bowler with a new ball as he possesses the ability to move the cherry into the right-handers early on. Also, Cottrell can flummox the batsmen with his clever changes in pace in the death overs. Cottrell has a good record in T20Is while playing for the West Indies. The tall left-arm bowler has played 30 T20Is and has picked up 37 wickets.

Cottrell has also featured in 6 IPL matches and has scalped 6 wickets at a strike rate of 20.00. One man’s exit opens the door for another man’s entry. And now, Archer’s unavailability can be a great opportunity for someone like Cottrell to once again wear the IPL jersey in the 14th edition of the IPL.
