In such a situation, it is also necessary to review the performances of last year for it reminds us as to how the previous season of the IPL unfolded. So, here we are, with the list of Top 5 Batting Performances from IPL 2017:

Sanju Samson

5. Sanju Samson (Delhi Daredevils) – During the ninth match of IPL 10 between Rising Pune Supergiant and Delhi Daredevils at Pune, Samson scored his maiden IPL century, 102 (63), with the help of eight fours and five sixes. Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the second over, Samson made full use of the opportunity provided to him. His innings saw Daredevils score 205-4 in 20 overs.

4. Ben Stokes (Rising Pune Supergiant) – During the 39th match of IPL 10 between Rising Pune Supergiant and Gujarat Lions at Pune, Stokes scored his maiden IPL century, 103* (63), with the help of seven fours and six sixes. Chasing 163 runs to win, Stokes came in to bat at No. 5, when his team was reduced to 3-10 in the second over. It was another of those matches which Stokes helped Supergiant win single-handedly in the last season.

3. Hashim Amla (Kings XI Punjab) – Playing in his first IPL season like Ben Stokes, Amla scored his second IPL century in the 47th match against Gujarat Lions at Mohali. After the opposition captain in Suresh Raina sent the home team to bat first, Amla displayed his class and proved that batsmen of his genre can also do well in T20s. He ended up scoring 104 (60) with the help of eight fours and five sixes as KXIP scored 189-3 in 20 overs.

2. Hashim Amla (Kings XI Punjab) – During the 22nd match of IPL 10 between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians at Indore, Amla scored his maiden IPL century, 104* (60), with the help of eight fours and six sixes. In which was his maiden T20 century, it helped his team to post 198-4 in 20 overs. Opening the batting for KXIP, he remained not out throughout the innings.

David Warner

David Warner (Sun Risers Hyderabad) – During the 37th match of IPL 10 between Sun Risers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders at Hyderabad, Warner scored his third IPL century, 126 (59), with the help of 10 fours and eight sixes. Warner’s blitzing captain’s knock saw his team post a formidable 209-3 in 20 overs on the board. Sun Risers won the match by 48 runs.
