Windies skipper Carlos Brathwaite discussing with the two on-field umpires

It is the most recent incident among the all discussed incidents in this article. This incident happened during the third and final T20I of the series between the hosts Bangladesh and the visitors’ Windies at Dhaka on December 22.

It was the series-decider game and that incident occurred during the fourth over of the second innings when the hosts were chasing the 191 runs target. While the visiting pacer Oshane Thomas was bowling in that over, Liton Das was caught out at mid-off but the bowling end umpire Tanvir Ahmed called it a front-foot no-ball. It meant that Das remained not out and Bangladesh was awarded a free-hit.

While every Windies’ players were devastated on that situation, they became frustrated after watching on the big screen that Thomas’ front-foot didn’t cross the bowling-line entirely and the umpire was wrong on his decision. It was a legal delivery which meant Das was actually out.

That situation created several confusions on the field. The Windies skipper Brathwaite demanded to take their existing review but the umpires claimed that it wasn’t available for them at that time. The Windies skipper Carlos Brathwaite seemed very frustrated with that decision and match referee Jeff Crowe had to come at the sideline to handle that situation. Finally, the visitors decided to continue the game.

It was around 10 minutes gap between the controversial no-ball delivery and its next free-hit delivery. It took around 16 minutes to complete that entire over where Bangladesh added 30 runs in that over.
