The present Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Mortaza is one of the national heroes. Apart from being a top-class pace bowler, he is very passionate for the game and for the country and his brilliant captaincy skills have evolved Bangladesh as a competitive team in international cricket. Under his captaincy, Bangladesh reached the quarter-final of 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, the semi-final of 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.

Though Mortaza missed the 2011 WC, he has already played in three WCs (2003, 2007 and 2015). The 35-year-old Mortaza is carrying the national side despite some solid fitness issues and it is a high chance that the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup will be his final international assignment.
