It is the very latest incident that happened during the first ODI of the five-match ODI series between the hosts New Zealand and the visitors India at McLean Park (Napier) on 23 January 2019. Chasing down the 158 runs target, when India was batting on 44/1 at 10 overs, the game was interrupted due to the sun strike. As the Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan was batting, the bright sunlight was directly falling on his eyes and that was obscuring his vision. In result, the match faced the 30-minute interruption and it created a revised target for the visiting side which was 156 runs in 49 overs (DLS method).
