On Day 5 of the ongoing Boxing Day Test between India and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Travis Head’s part-time bowling made a significant impact, breaking the crucial partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant. At the time, India still needed more than 220 runs to win, and this partnership was proving to be a strong obstacle in Australia’s path.

Travis Head’s decision to bowl at Rishabh Pant paid off, as the partnership between Pant and Jaiswal had grown to 88 runs off 197 balls, providing India with the much-needed stability in their chase. However, Pant’s aggressive approach to his innings led to his downfall once again.

Rishabh Pant attempted a big pull shot to a delivery from Head that was just short of a length, thinking it was the right ball to attack. Unfortunately, Pant couldn’t get under the shot properly, and the ball flew wide of long-on.

In an incredible display of fielding, Mitchell Marsh sprinted to his left, tracked the ball, and executed a reverse-cup catch despite the challenging conditions. Marsh’s quick thinking and excellent catch provided Australia with a much-needed breakthrough, sending Pant back to the pavilion for 30 runs off 104 balls, including two boundaries.
