Travis Head has left an indelible mark on Indian cricket fans with his match-winning performance in the World Cup 2023 final, where Australia won against India in their own den. Despite breaking umpteen Indian hearts with that victory, Head found himself warmly embraced by the same fans when he joined Sunrisers Hyderabad for IPL 2024. Aggressive batting at a strike rate of almost 200 made him an instant darling of the Hyderabad supporters.
Head reflected on experiences and what makes the country’s culture so unique, having spent some quality time in India recently. Having just finished his first season in Major League Cricket, he spoke highly of the hospitality and energy of India. “The most enjoyable thing about India is how friendly everyone is and how well we get looked after.”

Travis Head commented in an interview with Sports Boom. The hotels we stay in are fantastic,” he continued. “There are some great places to eat and see, and a couple of really good courses to relax on. We are very fortunate to be very well looked after while we’re there.”
He also pointed out the electrifying atmosphere in the venues of Indian cricket, powered by zealous crowds. “Obviously, the crowds and the venues that we play at are outstanding, but there’s a lot to do away from the game as well, if we want to just chill. It’s always a great experience being in India,” he added.
