Footwork often earns batters praise, but for Travis Head, it nearly cost him his wicket. The Australian opener found himself in the middle of a dramatic moment during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 10 of IPL 2025 at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.

The incident unfolded in the fourth over when Mukesh Kumar bowled to Aniket Verma. Verma hit the ball straight back, and Mukesh got a slight fingertip on it before it ricocheted onto the stumps at the non-striker’s end. Head, caught outside his crease, reacted just in time, scrambling back to safety. Replays confirmed his lucky escape, a rare sight considering many players fall victim to such dismissals.

However, Head’s luck ran out almost immediately. On the very next ball, Mitchell Starc delivered another fiery spell, continuing his dominance over SRH. The left-arm pacer, who had tormented them in last year’s playoffs while playing for KKR, once again proved to be their nemesis, dismissing Head and keeping the pressure on.

At the time of writing, SRH were struggling at 149/9 after 16 overs. Aniket Verma led the charge with 74, alongside Heinrich Klaasen 32, as SRH maintained their aggressive approach despite losing wickets at regular intervals. Before the match, SRH skipper Pat Cummins highlighted the need for a strong total in the afternoon heat. “We batted the opposition out of the game last year; hope to do that today,” Cummins said, confirming one change—Zeeshan replacing Simarjeet.
