Trent Boult continues to be a force with the new ball, and his brilliance was once again on display during the Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians clash in IPL 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. After a solid first innings that saw Mumbai Indians post a formidable total of 217, Boult ensured the defending effort began with a bang.

The experienced left-arm pacer faced an early challenge from Rajasthan opener Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second over of the chase. Jaiswal came out with intent, smashing Boult for two sixes in the first three deliveries—one over deep mid-wicket and another over long-on. But Boult, known for his temperament and skill under pressure, responded in the best way possible.

On the fourth delivery, Trent Boult adjusted his length and pace, delivering a 139.6 kmph ball that landed on a good length. Jaiswal, riding high on his aggressive start, tried to go big once again, attempting to slog across the line. However, the ball zipped through, beat the bat, and crashed into the stumps. The off and middle stumps were left in disarray as Boult turned the momentum in MI’s favour.

What made the moment even more memorable was Trent Boult’s rare show of emotion. The New Zealand speedster, usually calm and composed, roared in celebration and gave Jaiswal a pointed send-off. It was a statement—both in skill and in spirit—as Mumbai Indians took early control in the high-pressure contest.

With Jaiswal and teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi dismissed early, thanks to Boult and Deepak Chahar respectively, MI looked well on course to defend their total and strengthen their position in the IPL 2025 playoff race.
