In the 23rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Gujarat Titans (GT) are locking horns with Rajasthan Royal (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RR pacer, Trent Boult managed to take a brilliant rebound catch on his own bowling after the clash between Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer.

Earlier in the game, the RR skipper, Sanju Samson won the toss and asked the host to bat first as it has been the tradition on the venue so far. However, the hosts didn’t witness a start they would’ve liked as their opener, Wriddhiman Saha was dismissed in the first over by Trent Boult after smashing a boundary.

On the third ball of the over, Trent Boult delivered a full-length delivery and Saha deiced to whip the ball over square leg but played it a tad bit early and as a result, the ball went straight up in the air over the pitch. Samson charges forward from behind the stumps, as well as Shimron Hetmyer, who came from square leg, another fielder (Dhruv Jurel) charged from the point position to take the catch.

None of them looked in a mood to call for the catch as they were running hard to grab it. Samson somehow managed to get his gloves on catch but eventually collided with Hetmyer and the ball popped out of the gloves up into the air.

However, Trent Boult, who was alert to the comedy of errors and positioned himself a few yards behind the triangle collision readying himself for a possible rebound. As expected, Boult managed to take the rebound catch while reaching forward at knee height. Tremendous awareness from Trent Boult to be prepared for the eventuality that occurred instead of standing around with hands on hips.

However, the manner in which Trent Boult took the catch would not probably happen again anytime soon, and Twitterati was well aware of it.
