Fast bowlers being safe fielders is perhaps a myth of the times gone by. Fast bowlers of the contemporary era are agile and swift and have it in them to stop a certain boundary or take a superb catch by diving. The notion of not diving in order to prevent any kind of injury is not acceptable in the modern-day cricket, especially in the T20 format.
It was the 14th over of Gujarat Lions’ innings when Suresh Raina hit Piyush Chawla on the leg side. The ball would have easily sailed over the boundary for a six but New Zealand’s Trent Boult came in between, redefining gravity.
The valiant effort saw him saving four certain runs for his team, which can be crucial in cricket’s shortest format.
