England cricket team’s head coach Trevor Bayliss believes on Paul Farbrace, present assistant coach of England cricket team, to become his successor as the head coach when he will step down from his role after the 2019 Ashes that will begin after completion of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.

When Bayliss was asked whether Farbrace can be next English coach, the senior replied, “Definitely. If that’s what he wants to do, then I’m all for it.”

Farbrace has worked under Bayliss for the several times in international cricket.

While Bayliss will take a short break from his role, Farbrace will be in-charge of England’s coaching role during their upcoming one-off home T20I against Australia and three-match home T20I series against India. Bayliss also added that England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) director Andrew Strauss has agreed on this suggestion.

Bayliss quoted, “Straussy spoke to me… with that in mind, to give Farby some exposure with the top team. He’s had success doing it before…this is an opportunity to get that experience.”

Bayliss also lauded in-form English cricketer Jos Buttler for his recent remarkable match-winning knock of unbeaten 110 runs during their fifth and final ODI against Australia at Manchester, while once they were struggling on 114/8 at chasing a 206-run target.

The 55-year-old said on Buttler’s impressive knock, “It’s unbelievable. I can’t really describe how good it is. Red ball, white ball, T20 — there are not too many better in the world at the minute. He’s right up there in the top echelon — a bit different to some of the guys I’ve worked with before, but he’s devastating. He can play that role he did (at Old Trafford), in smart fashion — but when he needs to he knows he can pull the power out and put the foot down.”

While Bayliss is happy to snatch a victory from the dead-end situation, he also believes that they have a lot of work to do for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup that will be played in England and Wales.

Bayliss spoke about the present top-ranked ODI team, “We still have work to do. If we didn’t have work to do we wouldn’t have been 114 for eight. To me that’s a bit of a reminder that there are still some things to work on.

“The good thing is we were able to win eventually from a poor position. To get a win from that situation will give Jos and the rest of the guys a blueprint of how to go about it, and the confidence to know that we can do it.”
