Internet is full of weirdo’s and people do the craziest of things on the Internet. One such Cricket fan who believes a little too much in the power of Jinx has started a petition online. Abhinay Thakur an avid cricket fan has started a petition on Change. org demanding a suspension of the social media accounts of two cricketers, Virender Shewag and Virat Kohli.

Kohli
Team India Captain Virat Kohli

Yes, you read it right, An Indian cricket fan wants to suspend social media activity of Indian Team captain  Virat Kohli and twitter master Virendra Shewag. The reason for such a ridiculous demand is actually quite funny. The fan does not want these players to share any congratulatory messages on their personal social media handles before any significant match for the Indian women’s team.

This petition was brought to life on Sunday after the India Women’s team got thrashed by Australia’s Women team in the Women’s T20 World Cup final. The Aussies dominated in every aspect of the game and beat India by a convincing 85 runs margin. India had a good run throughout the tournament and remained unbeaten before the finals. The nerves and inexperience of playing in such a big game got to them as they faltered when it mattered most. The Indian team got all out at a mere score of 99 when they were asked to chase 185.

The petition reads, “Stop Virat Kohli and Sehwag from wishing Indian teams in ICC tournaments especially in Semis/Finals. These both jinxx our victories..! Suspend their social media accounts if they don’t stop posting congratulations post (sic)”.

Indian captain Virat Kohli and Former India opener Virender Shewag had tweeted a congratulatory message for the Indian women team before the finals.  Fans like Abhinay Thakur believe that tweets from these batsmen showered bad luck to the women team and they lost the finals because of that.

This petition already has over 600 signatures and their goal currently is to get to 1,000 signatures as soon as possible.
