Bangladesh has a disaster start on their 2018 West Indies tour as they were bowled out for just 43 runs in 18.4 overs in the first innings of the first Test of two-match Test series at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium (North Sound, Antigua) on Wednesday.
It took less than the opening session of the first Test to dismiss the whole Bangladesh team in the first innings. West Indies captain Jason Holder decided to field first after winning the toss, but no one thought what is coming next.
Pacer Kemar Roach provided a blistering start with the fiery spell as he grabbed first five wickets and left Bangladesh in tatters on 18/5. The next batsmen were also helpless against the other West Indies bowlers as that innings ended on just 43 runs.
Only the opener Liton Das reached the double-digit mark in that innings as he scored the highest runs in that innings of 25 runs off 53 balls. Four batsmen – Mushfiqur Rahim, captain Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah and Kamrul Islam Rabbi – scored the ducks in that innings.
Among the West Indies bowlers, Kemar Roach ended with the figure of 5-1-8-5, while Miguel Cummins (3/11) and the skipper Jason Holder (2/10) picked up three and two wickets respectively.
