Teachers are one of the most important members in everyone’s life as they help others to acquire knowledge, competences or values. A good and passionate teacher not only teaches, he/she inspires and leads towards the important paths. Though formally the teaching word is mostly related with the school or any educational purposes, in the real life it’s width wider.

A teacher can be anyone, even the parents too. It is a valuable and respectable designation. While the World Teachers’ Day is held annually on October 5, most of the nations celebrate this day separately too as a special honour.

India celebrates the Teachers’ Day in every year on 5th September (since 1962) as the birthday of the second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (5 September 1888). This Wednesday, 5 September 2018, was his 130th birthday anniversary which India celebrated as the Teachers’ Day.

On this special occasion, like many other Indians, some Indian cricketers have paid their tributes to their teachers on their social media accounts. Some of the twitter reactions are as follows:

Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar tweeted, “Without teachers, our lives wouldn’t have been the same. So let’s continue to appreciate their contribution in making us who we are today. Happy #TeachersDay!”

Indian experienced off-spinner Harbhajan Singh posted, “Cricket has taught me everything in life. It’s not just playing cricket at the end of the day. You go back home with experiences you’ll never forget. I learnt how to go about life, how to deal with ups and downs, and came across the best mentors and friends! Happy #TeachersDay!”
