On Wednesday, the lethal Indian pacer, Jasprit Bumrah on Wednesday shared a couple of pictures highlighting his cricketing journey. Through the pictures, he pointed out how he started from the ashes and reached a stage where he is considered one of the most lethal fast bowlers in the world. Bumrah is not part of Team India for the ongoing Test series against South Africa.

After being initially included in the Test squad, Bumrah was ruled out of the series due to a lower back stress fracture. After missing out on an opportunity to play his first Test at home, Bumrah flew to the UK to seek a specialist opinion on his injury. During his time away from the field, he is quite active on social media. His latest tweet read: “Started from the bottom now we’re here”.

This was not the first time that Bumrah had spoken about his humble beginnings and recalled his days of struggle. This is how fans reacted:

Mumbai Indians, Bumrah’s Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, tweeted a video last week where he and his mother Daljit Bumrah could be seen recalling the tough times they had to go through. The video was captioned as “‘Talent can come from anywhere and reach the pinnacle of success.’ Watch the transformational journey of @Jaspritbumrah93 from a rookie to a world-beater”

The video also featured Mumbai Indian owner Nita Ambani who began the video speaking a few lines about the talented fast bowler.

Mrs. Ambani said, “Talent can come from anywhere and reach the pinnacle of success. I would like to share with you the transformational journey of a young boy who was discovered by Mumbai Indians from a small-time of India.” On the other hand, fast bowler’s mother Daljit Bumrah said, “When he was five-year-old, I lost my husband”.

Jasprit joined in saying: “After that, we couldn’t afford anything. I had one pair of shoes. I used to have one pair of T-shirts. I used to wash them every day and use it again and again. So, as a child, you know you hear stories that sometimes these things happen that some people come and watch you and you get picked up like this. But it actually happened.”
