The young Indian all-rounder, Shivam Dube can be termed as the next big thing in Indian cricket and that can be seen by the way he batted in the ongoing second T20I against West Indies. He made his debut during the series against Bangladesh last month and was lucky to be retained in the squad for the ongoing series.

Earlier, the Mumbai southpaw could not make any big impression with the bat but did make a mark with the ball. And with Hardik Pandya sidelined with an injury, India had to retain him in the squad. He also maintained his position in the playing XI for the series-opener although he did not get much chance to do anything with the bat and ball.

However, in the second T20I, he came out to bat ahead of the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli and the youngster has made the most of it. After KL Rahul was out cheaply, Dube walked in to bat and did not take long to start playing the big shots. He started showing his wide array of shots straight away and took a special liking for Kieron Pollard.

In the ninth over of the match, Dube smashed the West Indies captain for three huge sixes all around the park. The first one was a slower one from Pollard which Dube emphatically smashed it over backward square leg and the second one a full-toss wide outside off which he smacked over the extra-cover boundary. By the end of the over, Dube ensured that Pollard was a broken man, so much so that the Windies skipper even missed a sitter of a catch off the bowling of Hayden Walsh. Dube scripted the perfect revenge story and Pollard learned his lesson.

And during the same over, he also made it clear that he can play the attacking brand of cricket just like most of his teammates. Dube gave it back to Pollard after the latter seemingly tried to stop him from taking a double. In the next over of Hayden Walshi Jr. Pollard dropped an easy catch of Dube.
