Windies will be missing their series winning skipper Jason Holder in the final Test match against England which begins on 9th February. Holder has been banned for one Test for the slow over-rate in the second Test match of the series. This is the second time Holder has been handed a suspension for the slow over rates; he earlier missed the second Test match against New Zealand in 2017. Kraigg Brathwaite will lead the team for the 3rd Test match in the absence of the regular skipper.
Holder is enjoying a purple patch in his cricketing career, shining with both bat and ball for his team. He has risen to the top position of the ICC allrounder rankings. He has been exceptional in his captaincy as well. Windies have already gained an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match Test series.

The Windies team would definitely miss their captain in the 3rd Test match as he has been a game changer. It has been Holder who has changed the way of the match in favor of the hosts. The Carribean team would be hoping to register a whitewash over the English and record a famous series win over them. The visitors are looking out for answers and the selection woes aren’t getting any easier. West Indies and England battle it out in the final Test match from 9th February in St.Lucia.
However, ICC’s decision to ban the all-rounder hasn’t gone down well with the cricketing fraternity as recently, Australian great Shane Warne ridiculed the decision as he was unhappy with ICC’s decision and urged Holder to appeal against this ban before the third Test in St Lucia. He also questioned ICC’s common sense in the ban.
Warne’s tweet read: “The test didn’t go 3 days – can you please appeal this @JaseHolder98 ! What a ridiculous decision – where’s the common sense here ? Ps Congrats on a wonderful series win too. International cricket needs a strong Windies team & hopefully this is just the start @BrianLara.”

Holder replied to Warne comment with a “thank you” to which Warne responded once again congratulating the Windies skipper for the quality of cricket they put on display.

Warne added, “Pleasure ! The fans at the ground saw some awesome cricket from you & your team. No one at the ground would have felt short changed whatsoever. What a ridiculous decision & I hope this will be over turned !”

Jason Holder suspended for the third Test due to slow over-rate. Once again cricket gets out the blunderbuss, takes aim at its own foot and pulls the trigger…

This is a fine point, if the law is enforced consistently. Jason Holder has been banned in a game which lost 5 overs in three days. In England's 1st Test against Pakistan last year, 14 overs were lost in four days and yet neither team were punished. https://t.co/zqpFuEa5xL

Jason Holder suspended for the third Test. For slow over rates. Having just won two tests a day and tow days early. The ICC is shambolic.

Jason Holder banned for a slow over rate in a test match that lasted 3 days – you’re having a laugh @ICC 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

Absolute joke to impose a slow over rate ban on Jason Holder. I have not much knowledge about the rules to judge this but in a test that ended within 3 days, surely there was no pressure to finish the overs, yeah?
Sort yourself out, @ICC. Stick by your captain, @windiescricket.

Harsh to impose a match ban on an Unsung Windies hero Jason Holder. @ICC should make sure to find an alternative. Banning a captain is not a remedy.
He'll a huge loss for the next outing.

@ICC rewards Jason Holder with a ban for 3rd test for slow over rate, even though the game ended in 3 days. Wow I mean wow ICC that's how we are ensuring Test Cricket is alive #Ridiculous #WIvsENG

The ICC imposed a one test ban on Jason Holder for slow over rate in the 2nd innings of the second test. He will not participate in the 3rd test starting Saturday. Iony is we won in 3 days & at least 80% of the spectators wouldnt complain, the WI was thrashing England

This ban is a travesty. Clearly with four fast bowlers with longer run ups the over rate will be slower. Last time the #Windies were beating all comers new regulations restricted bouncers. Sport – England in West Indies: Jason Holder banned for third Test https://t.co/dr6cVIpHY5

If this Jason Holder banning saga happened against India,BCCI=ICC ranters would have already targetted the Indian team for getting afraid of Holder and using their power to ban him… #WIvENG
