India captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s knock against England in the second ODI in Canterbury earned a lot of praise from the cricket fraternity. The Indian captain has scored a masterful 143* off 111 balls with the help of 18 fours and four sixes as well. She came to bat after the fall of the second wicket and she took her time to set her eyes in with the conditions and English bowling. She got to her half-century off 64 balls, after which she reached her century off 100 balls.

Then Harmanpreet Kaur went berserk and scored 43 runs off her last 11 balls as well. On the back of her late hit, India smashed 62 runs in their last three overs. Kaur took on the left-arm pacer Freya Kemp to the cleaners as Team India scored 333 for the loss of five wickets in their 50 overs.

After her knock, the likes of Wasim Jaffer, Ian Bishop, Lisa Sthalekar, Deep Dasgupta, Amit Mishra and others wished her on social media. Jaffer reckoned that a batter should make the most of one’s good form. He also praised Harmanpreet Kaur for putting forth her A-game in this important time.

He said that he thoroughly enjoyed Harmanpreet Kaur showing her class against a top-ranked team as well.
