Team India’s middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav has been in sublime form in the T20Is recently and he has raced ahead of others with his maiden century in the T20Is against England in the third match of the series where he reached the feat in only 48 balls. After winning two matches of the T20I series against England, India lost the third game.

For England, Dawid Malan scored a half-century for the hosts and Liam Livingstone played a quick cameo to give a strong finish for the team. England posted a total of 215/7 in the first innings as well. While chasing, India got off to a steady start. But after losing a few wickets, the Suryakumar Yadav show started and he reached his century in 48 balls. The batter reached his maiden T20I hundred in the 17th over of the innings as he scored a boundary on David Willey’s delivery towards the third man as well. And, India finished at 198 runs in 20 overs.

After the win, Rohit Sharma said: “I thought it was a fantastic chase although we fell short. We are proud of the fight. Surya was magnificent to watch. I have been watching him for a while now. Loves this format, has wide range of shots. He has grown from strength to strength since we got him into the squad. They put us under pressure with their batting. Decent partnership put us on the back foot. You back yourself to get this score. We were clear in trying out guys if they can bowl 4 overs. We have things to work on as a group. Hope so. So far things are pretty good. We don’t want to sit on laurels. We want to get better every game. Today was a great learning for us to come out and bowl. And to bat as well. Games like this will teach you.”
