England fast bowler Tymal Mills, who played alongside India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah during their time with Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022, has lauded Bumrah’s exceptional bowling skills, calling him the best in the world across all formats. Mills, who last represented England in December 2023, has been impressed by Bumrah’s consistent brilliance since his international debut in 2016.

Bumrah’s performance in the recent five-match Test series against Australia was nothing short of remarkable. He featured in all five Tests, picking up 32 wickets, a testament to his skills and endurance.

Tymal Mills believes Bumrah’s value to any team cannot be overstated. “Jasprit is definitely the best bowler in the world across all three formats. He’s a special bowler in Test cricket, 50-over cricket, and T20s. A lovely guy as well. I really enjoyed my time in Mumbai, spending time with him and speaking to him both on and off the field. Any team that has him is very lucky,” Mills said, speaking to Times of India.

Mills further emphasized Bumrah’s versatility and importance to his team, adding that managing his workload carefully is key to ensuring his longevity at the top level.

“He’s obviously a prized asset, and you have to look after him. If you need to give him rest sporadically to keep him at his best for long periods, then I’m sure they’ll do that. He’s obviously a fantastic bowler,” Tymal Mills explained.

However, Bumrah has been struggling with back spasms recently, and there is uncertainty surrounding his participation in the upcoming ODI series against England, as well as the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Mills also shared his admiration for India’s emerging pacer Arshdeep Singh, who, according to him, is a highly skilled bowler capable of swinging the ball both ways. “I like Arshdeep Singh, the left-arm seamer. He’s got great skills and swings the ball both ways,” said Mills, acknowledging the growing pool of fast-bowling talent in India.
