The fiery Indian fast bowler, Umesh Yadav is of the opinion that New Zealand is a strong side and Indian bowlers will be looking to get the wicket of their skipper Kane Williamson out as early as possible to get momentum in India’s favor when they take on the Kiwi side in the World Test Championship final in Southampton.

In a stop-start career, Umesh Yadav has played 48 Tests for India but he is yet to become a regular member of the playing XI. With youngsters like Mohammed Siraj making their mark on the international stage, the competition for Umesh has got stiffer.

During a recent chat with The Telegraph,  “We do have a fair idea about Kane’s game, though I don’t think he has too many weaknesses. Of course, any quality batsman can fall to a good delivery, so as a fast bowler, you should look to stick to your strong points and bowl more of those balls which can fetch you wickets.”

He further added, “And yeah, we need to get Kane out as early as possible as that’ll surely benefit the team. New Zealand is a strong side, they bat deep and their pacers are quite experienced and lethal. So it will be a tough game. English conditions are also a big challenge for us and so is playing against a team like New Zealand.”

India and New Zealand have never played a Test match at a neutral venue. Away from home, India has struggled in New Zealand, winning only five Tests, while New Zealand has emerged victorious 10 times, with 10 Tests ending in draws.
