The Purple cap has been traveling through many heads and many teams. Royal Challengers Bangalore are lying near to the bottom of the points table yet one of the leading bowlers managed to win the coveted Purple Cap. Umesh Yadav has been a revelation in this season and played a vital role in Bangalore’s win over KXIP early in the season. He is the current holder of the Purple Cap.
Speaking about the honor, the Vidarbha pace-bowler has credited his coach, Ashish Nehra for guiding him to the success. The former Indian left-arm bowler is working with the Royal Challengers Bangalore for this season. Yadav while praising Nehra said,”Feeling nice. I knew one thing, that I have pace. So I have been concentrating on line and length. Nehra paaji is helping me with it.”

Bangalore fast bowler credited his performance to another special person. It’s his wife. Yadav said, “This is good for me and getting a lot of confidence (from my performances). This purple cap is for my wife, who has been asking me when are you going to get the purple cap.”
This year, Umesh Yadav started his campaign with 2/27 against his old franchise Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. He then took the defining 3/22 against KXIP which helped the team won the match. His bowling at the start of the innings has been incredible and his first two balls against Mumbai Indians were spectacular.

So far in the season, Umesh Yadav has managed to take 13 wickets in just 9 matches with an average of 21.15. His economy is only 8 despite bowling his most overs in the powerplay. RCB will be next seen in the action against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday.
