Indian pacer Umesh Yadav has replaced Shardul Thakur in the first two ODIs of the five-match home ODI series against Windies, starting from October 21.
The 26-year-old right-arm pacer Shardul Thakur suffered a groin injury on the opening day of his debutant Test match, which was the recent second and final Test of the series against Windies at Hyderabad (Deccan). He delivered only 10 balls before getting hurt in that injury and returned to the dressing room.

He didn’t come to bowl again in that game. However, he came to bat during India’s first innings and remained unbeaten on 4 runs, while he put an important 28-run partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin for the final wicket.
But Thakur will not able to play the upcoming entire ODI series due to his groin injury. However, it was not the first time when he suffered this injury. Before that Test series, Thakur featured in Asia Cup 2018 in UAE that was played in last month. After their opening game of the tournament against Hong Kong in Group A, Thakur suffered the groin injury and later, he was ruled out from the entire tournament.
