Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav visited the revered Mahakaleshwar Temple on Friday morning along with his wife Tanya Wadhwa, where the couple attended the spiritually significant Bhasma Aarti. Known for his deep-rooted faith, Umesh described the visit as a special and fulfilling experience.

Speaking to reporters after offering prayers, the pacer reflected on his strong belief in Lord Mahakal. “The experience was very good. I keep coming here often, and as they say, you can’t come here without being called. This time, the feeling was truly special,” he said. “It felt wonderful to visit and have Baba’s darshan. I sought blessings for everything I have planned and for what lies ahead.”

Umesh Yadav also spoke about his broader prayers beyond personal goals. “I just hope my life continues to improve and that all my work goes well. I also pray for the well-being of everyone in the world—may Baba’s blessings always be upon all,” he added, reflecting a grounded and humble outlook.

Since making his debut for India in 2010, Umesh Yadav has carved out a reputation as a dependable fast bowler across formats. Over the years, he has played 141 international matches, picking up 288 wickets at an average of 31.62, with best figures of 6/88 in an innings.

His impact has been particularly notable in Test cricket, where he has claimed 170 wickets in 57 matches at an average of 30.95. Known for his pace and ability to generate reverse swing, Umesh has often played a key role in providing breakthroughs, especially in home conditions alongside India’s dominant spin attack.

Umesh last represented India in 2023 during a Test match against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and continues to remain a respected figure in Indian cricket.
