After the Lankan series, India is scheduled to play against Australia this September and New Zealand later this season. Though the venues for Australia vs India are already announced a week before by BCCI venues for the series against the Blackcaps remains undecided.
The uncertainty is the venue for the third ODI between the hosts and the New Zealand scheduled to play on October 29. On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) was made a venue for future games in the official announcement made by BCCI. Though no reports are made that UPCA will be able to conduct the India-New Zealand series. BCCI also made complicities with India vs Australia venue announcement.
UPCA, on the other hand, will conduct the opening match of the Duleep Trophy. The officials are eager to conduct the international game as soon as possible but the stadium infrastructure doesn’t support that. The stadium is still under construction and lacks the facilities to host an international match like India vs New Zealand. The new stadium is yet to get the required permission from the International Cricket Council (ICC) to host international matches.
The officials though confirmed of completing the work within 40 days. If they are unable to do so, the match would be played at Green Park in Kanpur. Also as per the schedule earlier, the third T20I between India and New Zealand was to be held at the Barabati Stadium but then it was moved to Thiruvananthapuram due to Bali Jatra, the local festival set to begin on November 4.
India this home season will play 11 One-Day Internationals, 9 T20Is, and 3 Tests with New Zealand and Sri Lanka visiting the hosts after Australia.
