In the ongoing second Test against New Zealand at Dubai (DSC), Pakistan batsman Babar Azam hit his maiden Test century. Later, when the star Pakistan cricket anchor Zainab Abbas posted a congratulation message on the Twitter for Babar Azam, the Pakistan batsman felt unimpressed on that and slammed her for that.
Pakistan started this second Test by 1-0 trailing in this three-match Test series. After Pakistan decided to bat first, they went down to 25/2 by losing both the openers at the very early stage. However, Azhar Ali and Haris Sohail recovered the team very well with a solid 126-run partnership for the third wicket.
While Ali was dismissed on 81 runs, Haris stretched his innings for long. At the end of the day one, Pakistan was batting on 207/4 while Haris was not out on 81 and Babar was playing on 14 runs.
On the next day, Haris completed his century and provided a 186-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Babar, before he was caught behind on 147 runs.
Just in few minutes of Haris’ dismissal, Babar finally ended his wait to score the maiden Test century. Playing his 17th Test match and 32nd Test innings, the 24-year-old right-handed batsman finally completed his century in 215 balls. He carried that innings for further and remained unbeaten on 127 off 263 balls (12 fours and 2 sixes) while Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed (30*) declared that first innings on 418/5.
On the day two of the game, after Babar completed his maiden Test century and ninth international century (8 in ODIs and 1 in Test), Zainab Abbas posted on her official Twitter account, “Well played @babarazam258 – loved how the boys went congratulating Mickey Arthur celebrating his “son’s” century #PakvNZ”
