The Board of Control for Cricket in India has named Tilak Varma as captain of the India A men’s team for the upcoming ODI tri-series in Sri Lanka next month. The tournament will also feature the Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A cricket teams, with several emerging stars earning opportunities in the 15-member squads.

Riyan Parag, who captains Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, has been appointed vice-captain. The squad also includes teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi alongside explosive Punjab Kings openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya.

Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra has also been selected, while the pace attack features promising names such as Anshul Kamboj, Yash Thakur, Yudhvir Singh Charak and Arshad Khan.

India A have packed their squad with spin-bowling all-rounders, including Harsh Dubey, Vipraj Nigam, Nishant Sindhu, Ayush Badoni and Suryansh Shedge.

The tri-series will begin on June 9 in Dambulla, where India A will face Sri Lanka A. They will then take on Afghanistan A on June 11 before meeting both sides again on June 15 and June 17. The final is scheduled for June 21.

ODI tri-series schedule

Following the white-ball series, India A will also play two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka A in Galle, with the red-ball squad set to be announced later.
