Rising Indian batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was spotted leaving the Wankhede Stadium after India’s thrilling seven-run victory over England national cricket team in the semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on Thursday. The young talent attended the high-octane clash where India sealed a place in the tournament final after a dramatic contest in Mumbai.

India’s massive total was powered by a stunning innings from Sanju Samson, who smashed 89 runs off just 42 balls. The wicketkeeper-batter battled through an early challenge from Jofra Archer and rode a bit of luck after being dropped by England captain Harry Brook. Samson’s knock, his second successive half-century in the tournament, helped India post 253/7 — the highest total ever recorded in a T20 World Cup knockout match.

Despite the daunting target, England mounted a serious fightback thanks to a brilliant century from Jacob Bethell, who hammered 105 off 48 deliveries. England were in trouble early at 68/3 in the powerplay, but Bethell’s fearless counterattack brought the game alive. However, India’s bowling attack held its nerve in the final overs.

Leading that effort was Jasprit Bumrah, whose disciplined spell of 1/33 in four overs proved crucial in the death overs. England eventually finished on 246/7, falling just short of the massive target.

Following the match, Vaibhav was seen exiting the stadium and heading towards his car as fans celebrated India’s victory. The youngster has been enjoying a remarkable year after playing a key role in India’s triumph at the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup earlier this year under captain Ayush Mhatre. Vaibhav scored 439 runs in seven innings during the tournament at an impressive average of 62.71.
