After turning heads across the cricketing world with his sensational knock, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has not only rewritten T20 records but also reminded fans of the power of perseverance and parental support. The Rajasthan Royals prodigy stole the show in Jaipur with a blistering 101 off just 38 balls, powering his side to a stunning 8-wicket win over Gujarat Titans in the 18th edition of the IPL.

Chasing a formidable 210, the teenager’s fireworks lit up the ‘Pink City’ and left the cricketing fraternity in awe. Opening the innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, who largely watched the carnage unfold from the non-striker’s end, Suryavanshi brought up the fastest IPL century by an Indian in just 35 deliveries.
But while the cricketing world marvels at his meteoric rise, Vaibhav made it a point to credit those who’ve quietly laid the foundation behind his success — his parents. In a heartfelt video shared by the IPL on X (formerly Twitter), the young star opened up about the sacrifices his family made for his dream.

“Whatever I am today is because of my parents. My mother used to wake up early to prepare food before my practice. She barely slept for three hours. My father left his work for me, and my elder brother is handling it now,” Vaibhav Suryavanshi said. “We were struggling, but my father always believed I could make it. This success is all theirs.”

From his very first ball — a towering 90-metre six over long-on that stunned Mohammed Siraj — Vaibhav looked destined for something special. He dismantled GT’s bowling attack with youthful fearlessness, cutting through Rashid Khan’s mystery and exposing every flaw in their strategy. His ability to take on world-class bowlers with composure and intent belied his age.
