Two-time defending champion Mumbai Indians (MI) have started their 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Chennai with a defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore and they are scheduled to play as many as five of their league matches at the same venue as well. While staying there, Mumbai players are experiencing a luxurious stay in a resort in Chennai which also included a private beach. Meanwhile, former South Africa cricketer and the fielding coach of Punjab Kings Jonty Rhodes has cheekily responded to the pictures of opener Chris Lynn.

On April 16, Chris Lynn posted a few images on his Twitter handle where he can be seen enjoying surfing along with his teammate and pace spearhead Trent Boult on the beach. Lynn posted with the caption: “Winning the morning over here in Chennai #IPL @mipaltan”. Meanwhile, Jonty Rhodes, who is currently in Mumbai along with his team, Punjab Kings commented, “@lynny50 very jealous of your bubble!!!”

Meanwhile, the discussion went on as Lynn replied to Jonty Rhodes, tweeting: “Blessed with some quality waves, great man.” Later, Jonty Rhodes added: “Which beach, and who supplied the boards? Such an incredible surfing community along that stretch of the coast.”

However, PBKS has lost their last game to Chennai Super Kings due to a dismal batting show. Despite the loss, the captain KL Rahul asked his players to play a fearless brand of cricket. He said: “There’s not much more to say. If any team loses five wickets in the first seven or eight overs, it’s always going to be catch up. They bowled well, we played some bad shots, that’s how the game goes. It (pitch) was a lot more sticky and tacky than what it looked like. Credit to the CSK bowlers, they bowled in the right channels, Deepak with his knuckle balls got a couple of wickets, getting myself run-out doesn’t help the team.”

“Just the way we started, the pitch was still okay, it wasn’t a 100-110 wicket, maybe 150-160 sort of a wicket. But it’s a good learning for us, hopefully we can learn from these mistakes and come back stronger in the next game. We’d like to review ourselves on the key points that we speak about before the game and if we stuck to those plans. Last game we got 220, this game we couldn’t get even half of it. It’s important that we learn from our mistakes and that’s the sort of team we want to be. We still want to go out there and play fearless cricket,” he concluded.
