The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli went on to shower praises on the young Indian all-rounder, Vijay Shankar for his all-round performance during the 2nd ODI against Australia at Nagpur. Speaking on Chahal TV, Kohli said it was difficult in the middle during the afternoon as it was hot, hence it is commendable the way Shankar played.
Shankar not only played well but also took pressure off me and made my job easier. Kohli also said that while he was batting in the middle with Shankar he felt 275 was a possibility. Kohli and Shankar stitched an important 81-run-stand.

During the same interview on the popular show of BCCI, Chahal TV, the young Indian leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal asked Vijay if he is comfortable when it comes to speaking in Hindi. It seems Shankar is uncomfortable as he twitches while Chahal asks him to speak in Hindi. He also candidly acknowledged that it is more difficult to speak in Hindi rather than playing in the middle.

Shankar also went on to reveal that he was ready for the last over and he had started mentally preparing himself after the 43rd over. It was all in my mind while I was bowling the last over and it was all about executing it, which he did convincingly. He also picked up a couple of wickets to bundle-out Australia and help India take a 2-0 lead after winning the match by eight runs. The victory was also the 500th ODI win for India as they became the second team after Australia to do it.
The Men in Blue will now travel to Ranchi for the 3rd ODI. It would be Dhoni’s home ground and the support is expected to be immense.
