Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the toss and decided to field first against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the visitors came out all guns blazing as they scored 66 runs in the power-play overs for the loss of no wickets. Jason Roy earlier got his eye in and then unleashed an attack on the opposition. In the 6th over, Jason Roy smashed 4 sixes against the left-arm off-spinner Shahbaz Ahmed.

Roy’s opening partner, N Jagadeesan was seen struggling to score runs but he made sure that he gave a strike to the destructive batter Jason Roy. Mohammed Siraj bowled a brilliant spell of 2 overs as he conceded only 13 runs in his first couple of overs. Virat Kohli was marshaling his troops and didn’t panic even when Jason Roy was going berserk in the powerplay overs.

The required run rate slowed down in the middle overs phase as Wanindu Hasaranga used his variations well. At the end of 9 overs, KKR’s score was 82-0. Vijaykumar Vyshak was bowling the 10th over, on the 2nd delivery Vyshak dismissed N Jagadeesan by bowling a short delivery and was caught at deep mid-wicket. N Jagadeesan was dismissed on 27 runs in 29 balls.

Here is the video of the delivery from Vijaykumar Vyshak:

The likes of Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer stitched a healthy partnership of a partnership and made sure that one of them stays till the end of the innings. It won’t be a bad idea to promote Andre Russell up the order who can play a breezy cameo and most importantly which will give him more time to get accustomed to the situation of the match.

RCB on the other hand would be aware of the fact that KKR can unleash the attack given their batting depth. Virat Kohli perhaps needs to give an over to Harshal Patel & Mohammed Siraj before the death overs as a wicket would be invaluable.
