Siraj, who was picked up by GT for a hefty ₹12.25 crore, has been in excellent rhythm this season, bagging 11 wickets in seven matches at an average of 22.81 and an economy rate just under 9.

Mohammed Siraj came into the season with a point to prove, especially after being left out of India’s Champions Trophy squad. But under Nehra’s guidance, the pacer has rediscovered his rhythm and confidence—something Solanki was quick to acknowledge.

Vikram Solanki emphasised how Nehra’s unique ability to instil belief in players has benefited the franchise and players like Siraj in particular.
He explained, “If there’s one coach who knows how to lift a player’s spirit, it’s Ashish. Siraj was obviously disappointed after the Champions Trophy snub, but instead of letting that weigh him down, he’s used it as fuel. He’s got a plan, he’s executing it well, and Ashish is helping him fine-tune every aspect of his performance.”

Gujarat Titans, under Shubman Gill’s leadership, have reaped the rewards of this player-coach partnership.
