Vinod Kambli first came into the limelight as a young cricketer when he and legendary Sachin Tendulkar scored a record partnership of 664 runs in a school match in 1988. After another three years, in 1991, Kambli made his international debut in One Day Internationals, and his Test debut in 1993. He made an instant mark in Test cricket by scoring back-to-back double hundreds in his third and fourth matches against England.
